We took our last field trip Friday....going to a Native American village. We did three activities: walking through the different stages of a forest on a hike; touring the Native American village; and making a necklace from dentilium shells and glass beads.
We saw a river canoe made from one redwood log. Native American canoes have parts of it named after the body: the heart, the lungs, etc.
Ranger M told us all about the brush dance and showed us where it is done.
Here's Nathan!
and not realizing Mrs. J could take another picture so quick, I got him smiling! Yeehaw!!
Each student got to select their piece of abalone for their necklace...
Moriah...
This was the trail we walked on...
and Mrs. J had a lot of fun with her camera!
