Spring has sprung in Room 8...or Hippity Hoppity Easter's on its way!

Easter...Spring...what a wonderful time of year! We started off with our Spring pictures. Some Room 8'ers really dressed up for the occasion...new clothes, new haircuts, new styles!

On Friday morning, we hid eggs for our little buddies out in the garden. Mrs. Friedman gave us the eggs. It was a beautiful day...

Nikkiah REALLY wanted to have an Easter party in Room 8. We had a few treats coming in from parents that we were going to eat during our movie. (We watched the movie version of Roald Dahl's book, The Witches, which we had just finished reading.) Well, Nikkiah organized a little candy hunt for our class. She came prepared with little zip-lock bags with each students name + "Happy Easter" + a drawing of an Easter egg! She also told me she "sent her mom shopping" for candy...eggs, kisses, and little bars. After lunch on Friday, Nikkiah rounded up her "helpers" and they hid candy all over the room. Then Nikkiah figured out how many pieces each student could have. She wrote the directions on the board and announced it to everyone before they came in. It was simple and fun...and the comments I heard from room 8'ers was how much fun it was! Thank you, Nikkiah!

MOST WANTED BUNNY

Most 'Most Wanted' signs hang in police stations or the post office....but we now have some ... very unique ones ... hanging in Room 8. These are our MOST WANTED BUNNIES! Oh yes, we have the TRIX rabbit...Energizer Bunny...Roger Rabbit...Bunnicula...Bugs Bunny...you name it. Some rewards were offered, but some weren't worth the trouble! We'll keep these up for Open House so all of you can BE ON THE LOOKOUT...and MAYBE EARN A REWARD!!!

Cole's PERFECT Attendance

We recently had our Academic Awards Assembly. Not only do students who receive Honor Roll or Principal's List get an award, but those students with superior attendance also get an award. We definitely had a LOT from Room 8. Unfortunately, one of our room 8'ers was left out...Cole....and he didn't have just superior attendance, he had PERFECT attendance! To try to make up for his name being overlooked, Mr. P came in and did a special presentation to Cole in Room 8.

Way to go, Cole!

Happy Birthday, Cole

March 29th was Cole's big day...he turned 10 years old! To celebrate, Cole's mom brought cookies...delicious cookies...two kinds of delicious cookies - Chocolate chip and peanut butter. There were enough for every Room 8'er to have one of each.

I can't remember what Cole's favorite candy bar was...but here he is with his Birthday certificate...and his Birthday pencil. Unfortunately, I believe we found a wrinkle or two...no grey hair though! Cole is carrying his age very well!
