Christmas

We made gingerbread houses in Room 17 the week before Christmas...As you can see, I think Trevin was anticipating eating some of the frosting...
The desks were covered so clean up would be easier...and the desks were clumped together so we had groups of students, too.
Rachel?  Are you planning on eating the frosting, too?
Not Chloe!  She's putting all her frosting on her graham crackers...
Elizabeth is doing the same thing...
as is Emma...
and Willow...

Some of us had a little extra help...Shawn's grandma came in to help...not just Shawn, but whoever needed some assistance... (thank you, Jan!)
Chinenye was ready to start putting hers together!
Jackson was on a roll...his was coming together just perfectly!
Gio did just what I said...
Look at Jonathan's...he put a lot of frosting on the edge...perfect!
Samantha was concentrating...
Dana...always happy and smiling!

Looking at leaves

Emma
In Science, we've been learning about plants...
Kassidy
We learned about parts all plants have in common:  roots, stems, leaves...
After collecting some leaves, we looked at leaves under magnifying glasses.  Each Room 17er compared two leaves by their texture, color, size, and shape.
 Chinenye
 Elizabeth
Kassidy
We drew pictures of our leaves, and then wrote the data associated with each one below the drawing.
