Wasey, Our Indian Princess

This is Wasey... sweet, quiet, artistic Wasey..

In Room 8, we've started studying about Native Americans... the resources in their region, their cultures, etc. I told Room 8 about visiting the Native American Museum in Washington, D.C. and the display of dresses that was there. (Last April).

Wasey told me about a dress she has worn... and then she brought a photo... I took one look at her in her tribe's regalia, and immediately thought of a little Indian princess!
You look absolutely beautiful, Wasey!

Parker and Levi

Parker and Levi...
You may have noticed that quite a few Room 8ers are bringing in their pets. This isn't something I usually do... but this year, for whatever reason, it's just evolved.
Parker's dad told me Parker was very excited about Levi coming to school.Parker told us Levi was part Jack Russell Terrier... and I think his dad said there was also some Border Collie... and more.
Levi was a bit rambunctious... she was excited and didn't want to sit still. Parker never even tried to hold her!
He took Levi for a stroll around Room 8. You know how dogs love to check everthing out... well, Levi tried, but he wasn't very successful

Well, gee whiz... here's Max again. He seems to be in all my dog pictures. I wonder how many dogs Max has?
Parker told us Levi likes to dance. He demonstrated...
"Enough is enough," barked Levi!
Parker pointed out that Levi HAS A SHORT TAIL!
We enjoyed hanging out and getting to know a little about Parker's dog, Levi.

Kaia & Sierra

Kaia and Sierra...
Sierra was a Christmas gift to Kaia and her adorable little brother, Jonah...
Sierra is a big puppy... I think Kaia said she was 3 months old??? She's a Mastiff and a Pyrenese... and she is absolutely adorable! We've been hearing all about Sierra in Room 8...You met Kobe and Callie on The Room 8 News... and hopefully will see Brittany and Sammi. I had to miss school that Sammi came to visit - which, unfortunately, means I don't have pictures for the blog! So bringing pets to Room 8 has been a topic of conversation.

This morning, Peter, Kaia's dad, brought Sierra with him as he brought Kaia and Jonah to school. Peter hung out for a while and let the excited Room 8ers pet Sierra... As kids walked in the back door, the others would let them know that Sierra was here.Sierra asked me if it was always so crazy in Room 8. I told her... 'sometimes.'Summer explained to us that she had 2 dogs that she had been petting THIS MORNING. So, Sierra could probably smell her dogs. It was obvious that Summer loves dogs!Peter and Kaia were watching Sierra get showered with attention.I think Max is a dog-lover too!

Poor Sierra, I think she got overwhelmed. Kaia just thought she needed to go ... well, excuse herself. She gave Kaia that 'hangdog' look.
Kaia came to the rescue...
Peter took her outside and told us 'bye.'

"BYE? No, no... can't you stay and let Kaia share Sierra with Room 8?" was my question."Come on, Peter," barked Sierra. She wanted to stay a while longer.

Peter is agreeable... and since he has a daughter in Room 8, well, that means he is 'flexible' too. I quickly added Sierra to our schedule. Peter helped Kaia hold Sierra at the front of the room.

We learned a little more about her......like how she'll probably grow to weigh about 140 lbs!We checked out the size of her paws! Yep, I bet she will be 140 lbs!

Look at that adorable face!Sierra eventually got a bit bored with being held. Kaia then walked her around the classroom.

She sniffed the floor... just checking out the smells of Room 8!She checked out all the great kids ... We can see who she loves best, however!
This blogging teacher knew I needed to get some Kaia & Sierra pictures...
After awhile, Peter announced it was time to go. He said he'd bring her back every week. That would be fun to watch her grow.

We certainly enjoyed having her come visit..."Bye, Sierra!"
