Science...We've started with plants...what do they all have in common? One of their common traits is a leaf...so we brought in all types, and spent a couple of days looking at different ones under a hand lens.
From these observations, students recorded the texture, color, size, and shape of their leaves. They wrote a little description and drew a picture of each leaf. Some drew a close up and some drew the entire leaf.
It was a 'fourth grade choice' on how they wanted to draw.
