Native American Village

We went on our annual field trip to a local Native American village.  It rained...and rained...and rained.. and then it rained some more!  Our first section of the field trip, was touring the houses.
We spent more time inside where we were dry.

Benjamin and Emerson, my grandsons, came along for the field trip since they were up visiting.
William, my newest grandson, also came along. He wasn't quite as interested as Benjamin and Emerson.
Brady and Anthony were so good about watching after the boys, making sure they kept their umbrella over their heads..  (Thank you again, boys!)
Our second section of the field trip, was taking a hike through the forest.  Mrs. B., 'my sister', lead the tour...in the rain.

Finally, it was lunch!  We sat under a covering and inhaled our lunches.
Our third and last part was making dentillium nccklaces.  We each could use 14 shells and also some beads.  Each student was able to select a piece of abalone for their necklace, too.

Emerson and Benjamin were happy to take a picture with their 'new friends', all wearing their necklaces.
Jullian showed me her necklace... and now she tells me she's moving to Oregon!  We're going to miss her!!!!
