November 30th Friday Groups

This was the last session of the 2nd rotation of Friday groups.  Because we had our HUGE dinner and fundraiser for our school that night, I got to run the cooking group.  Fortunately, we had Gretchen, Sonja, and Cynthia (Austin's mom) here to help us!
We divided the cooking group in half...which ended up being a group of 4 girls and a group of 3 boys!  The girls made a recipe of a sugar-type cookie...that was rolled, twisted, and formed into candy cane forms.
Isabella was listening to Sabrina tell her how much vanilla to add to the dough...
Gretchen had the boys...also making sugar cookies.
Caleb, being on crutches, needed a little help!
Cynthia was telling the girls how you needed to level off the flour...
Saint Debbie doesn't like to have her picture made.  I did this quick...and unfortunately, it blurred.  But this is Debbie...Saint Debbie...who had been so generous to share her kitchen with Room 5!
The woodworking group was finalizing their hat racks...

The crocheting group was staying warm...and enjoying their craft!

We needed a little baking powder...
The boys were busy rolling and cutting out their cookies....
The girls divided their dough into little balls...and rolled each ball into a rope....doubled the rope...twisted it...and shaped it into a candy cane!

 All the cookies were decorated...

 It was time to bake!
As you can see, we had a bit of rain today...
but no problem!  We're in a covered area and so nothing or no one gets wet!
Mikayla was helping clean up the woodworking group...
I love this picture of Sawyer!
....and Gretchen!  She is so great to help us!
My grandchildren call me "Mimi"... and this apron that Cameron is wearing, was my Mimi's!  (my maternal grandmother)
Once the cookies were done...the cooking group served our class....

Mr. Collart had to have some cookies to give him energy to carry the wood!
The girls served the cookies they made...
 and the boys served theirs!
Even the teachers in the hall get to sample our food!

Fortunately, my cooking group helpers were able to run the group while I went in and out to get some photos of the day!
