We did a little leaf art project...
Each group of students had a plate of different leaves. They picked one, traced around it, then picked another one to trace. The idea was to overlap them and not draw the overlapped section.
You can see on Aarin's drawing how part of the yellow leaf is overlapping the one already drawn on her paper. That part of the yellow leaf will not be traced...it gives it a more 3D look!
The next step was to trace every pencil mark with crayon...
Then we watercolored!
This was a pretty short project, but a lot of fun!

Homecoming Parade
Our local high school had its homecoming celebrations a couple of weeks ago. Part of their festivities is a parade..
a parade down the main street of our town.
Fortunately, we got to go watch. We, all the 4th and 5th graders, rode on the bus to a spot on the parade route where we could park the bus...and there was room for all of us to sit on the curb.
Some of our boys were quite excited!
The parade started at noon...
or a class - like the junior class....
there were also individual people doing something...
Each club and class had representatives for homecoming king and queen... these two were both former room 5ers!
Brenna was also a former room 5er!
The floats were fun to see!
We all had a great time!
