Read-a-thon

 The Friday before our Easter break, we had a Read-a-Thon!   As you can see, bean bags, comfy chairs, pajamas, and slippers were all OK to bring in.  Our goal was to read and be comfortable doing it...and we were.

 Ian, along with everyone else, enjoyed a 'carrot'... a snack of goldfish crackers and Cheetos in a cone-shaped bag tied with a green ribbon...compliments of Sonja!

Matt came and helped out on the last shift.

Thank you to all our parents, families, and friends who helped make this a success!  We needed to raise money for the 5th grades to pay off our Wolf-Creek debt and for the 4th graders to help pay for two spring field trips.  Plus, wasn't it fun to just relax and read for a morning?

Recorders!

 Friday, the 4th graders got their recorders.  It was a big day!

 Because of budget cuts, for the past 2 or 3 years, 4th graders have music/recorders only one trimester. 

 For Room 5, we have the third trimester.  Can you believe we're in the 3rd trimester of school?

 Mr. R is thrilled with this group of students...they are a dream group!

Hopefully, you're enjoying the beautiful sounds of learning to play an instrument!  :)

State Reports

 

Trenton - Louisiana

 The 5th graders are hard at work taking notes on their state.  They checked out a book on their state from the library, which is what they're using first for their notes.  They'll also use information from the computer and from an encyclopedia.

It's fun to listen to them share what they're learning...their state animal...motto...etc.  I can't remember everyone's state as I sit here at home...so I'll add the states a bit later!
