Callie came to visit Room 8 today... she was on our schedule ...
Kobe didn't want us to be deceived... he said she was 'acting all innocent'...See how relaxed Callie looks in the lap of her master?Orion assured us that she really was NOT an innocent dog... Kobe told us she likes to bite.I found that hard to believe... I mean, just look at that sweet face!Kobe told us that his mom got Callie at a grocery store... for free... about 6 weeks ago.Callie sleeps in bed with Kobe... even when Orion is over spending the night. But Orion said that then, Callie, sleeps next to him. Kobe also told us that Callie likes to... well, she has ... accidents ... in the house. But not in Kobe's room. Kobe took questions from Room 8...Then he decided to walk around so Room 8ers could meet Callie up close and personal.Room 8ers were excited to pet her...
They were impressed with her wardrobe...
She had a coordinating sweater and collar ...
pink, of course... seeing as 'she' is a girl...Moriah told her how cute she was...
Max was delighted ...
Ashley, Vanessa, & Kaia were enjoying it all...

The Tooth Fairy must be busy these days!

Poor Wesley...

Yesterday he told me he could hardly concentrate because he had this loose tooth that was bothering him.

Not anymore!

He told me today that his mom pulled it out. She tied a string around his tooth, then tied the other end of the string to the front door... made Wesley sit down and then she slammed the door and out came the tooth.

Just kidding... at least on the string and the door. But his mom DID pull it out. He wanted to show me..Then he showed me where he had lost a tooth on the other side...
Actually, I think he's recently lost 3 or 4 teeth. I warned him that he might be toothless before too long. He just laughed... I think he knew his teacher was just kidding. He didn't seem worried - at all.
Parker overheard the conversation between Wesley and I... so he came with his lost tooth stories.

"Look, Mrs. J., I lost a tooth here."
"Oh, I see, Parker. Did the tooth fairy come and visit?" was my reply."Umm... I don't know. I don't know where my tooth is."
I think he was contemplating which other teeth might be loose.

Enter Summer...

She had a lost tooth story too! She showed me one side......then the other.

The Tooth Fairy must be suffering from our economic downturn too, considering all the lost teeth out there!

A Resurgence in Playing Cards

Because of the recent winter weather, Room 8 has been having some indoor recesses. This is loved by some and hated, but tolerated, by others.

There has been a resurgence of card games during these recesses, namely Old Main and Crazy Eight. I can't remember when those games have been played.
As you can see from this photo above, it's fun to watch, even if you're not the one playing.

Mancala is another hit in Room 8. It is always a hit, every single year. Here, Moriah and Summer are playing. Looks like Moriah is winning.

Kobe's shinner, Max's hair, and Parker

Kobe... his name gives you a hint about what happened to his eye. Kobe... he's the first 'Kobe' I've ever known. Oh, I've heard about the famous basketball player by the same name. Does that give you a hint about what happened?

Yep, he was playing basketball...but I still don't quite understand HOW it happened. Regardless, it deserved a spot on the Room 8 News.
Max informed me he was going to let his hair grow out. So far, it's only obvious because of his bangs... They hang down in his eyes when he's working...or when he's playing outside... or when he talks to you. I asked him if he was going to grow it long enough to have a ponytail. He just laughed. I took that as a 'No.'

Then we have Parker. Parker just came up and asked me a question. I thought that was a great time to take a picture of that adorable face.
