Buddies!

Last Tuesday, Room 8 had their first day with their 1st grade buddies. A lot of us share a buddy since we have 28 students and they have...well, I can't remember, but it's less than 20. They had just come from their library, so we first read their books to them. Following that, Mrs. F had brought a word list and some letter cards. We were to have our first grader arrange the words and try to read them.

All in all, we loved meeting our buddies for the first time and... being the more mature student, it was fun to be the teacher!

Kaylin, Alysa, and Jaelin...Kaylin and Alysa both like pink, but Jaelin likes purple. All 3 of them like hearts!
Chelsea and Terra... They both like pizza, horses, cupcakes, sea horses, rainbow ice cream...and lots more!
Tucker, Liam, and Trendon didn't tell me what they have in common. They must have been too busy getting to know each other.
Grayce and Shelby didn't tell me what they had in common either! I think they enjoyed reading together, though.
Serenity and Aliya... They also have a lot in common! They both like to color, eat ice cream, play outside, the colors pink and blue, to find rocks, their teachers (ahhhh!), swimming, and reading! They are certainly a great match!
Samantha and Bella... Another great match up as far as having lots in common! They both like pizza, horses, dogs, Spongebob, reading, school, macaroni, watching movies, Tom and Jerry, friends, and Christmas!

Sadie and Julie, both like horses. They also both like sodas, and oranges!
Aleia, Olivia, and Noah...All three girls like cheese pizza, to wear black, and to spend money and shop! They also all three think water tastes funny!
Kaylin, Alysa, Jaelin forgot to tell me what they have in common. Maybe we'll find out this Tuesday!
Jimi, Leslie, and David... All three of these boys like football, video games, and cars. They also all like pizza, school, coloring...and TV.
Jarrin, Sam, and Logan must have spent a lot of time reading and getting to know each other. They told me they all three like the color blue!

Charlie and Aidan. I know for a fact they were busy discussing the world. Charlie's buddy brought a book about the world...so Charlie took out his atlas and began to teach his buddy about the equator, prime meridian, and the hemispheres! Way to go, Charlie!!!
Connor, Dylan, and Blayke...all like legos; the sports of soccer, football, and tennis; and they all like to eat ice cream!
Joseph, Dustin, and AJ, spent most of their time reading. They didn't turn in a paper with what they had in common. I'll find out Tuesday!
Abby, Suzanna, & Kayla, It looks like they are enjoying reading to their buddy!

Kaylee and her buddy, Kayli, DID turn in a paper. They both like chocolate ice cream, popcorn, pink, and Christmas! Theyk also both like the tooth fairy, dogs, hamsters, fish, butterflies and SpongeBob...and more. Unfortunately, this blogging teacher didn't get a picture of them... RATS! I'll have to remember to get one Tuesday.

Tuesdays...at 1 p.m. ... that's our Buddy Time! Oh boy!
