Yesterday we had our annual bus evacuation drill. Room 8 was on Bus 4.
Some of us ride this bus everyday, and some of us had never been on Bus 4.
We were ready to review all about the safety features.
Lura is the driver...
She reviewed the bus rules...which are the same on every bus.
She showed us where the first aid kit was...
Lura also pointed out the camera. Each bus has one...just in case there is a question about what happened.
We also practiced what to do if we were on the bus and an earthquake happened. Dallin and Kaylin did it just perfect.
The favorite part of this drill is the 'evacuation' part. We jump out of the bus...
Two people stand outside the door and offer a helping hand...
After jumping out, we're suppose to go to a safe place at least 100 feet away from the bus.
We went further out onto the playground, behind the bus...
Once we lined up, Lura gave us time to ask a few questions.
We learned how safe a school bus is...and what we can do to make ourselves safer while we're on it.
Thank you, Lura, for reminding us!
