Playing a money game with our buddies!

We love Thursdays when we go to see our little buddies!
Our buddies love Thursdays when their big buddies come to see them!
Today we played a math game...
 a money-math game...
 the Penny-Nickel exchange!
You roll the dice and get that many pennies out of the bowl...
Once you get to five pennies, you can exchange it for a nickel!
Sounds easy?  Well, it is if you're a 4th grader...
and after the great help our 4th graders gave their little buddies...
it's probably easy for the first graders..now!
These photos were from week before last...
and because our little buddies learned this so well...
this past Thursday we played the penny/dime/dollar exchange!  Yee Haw!
There's a BIG day coming up for the little people...
 the 100th day of school!
How many fourth graders remember celebrating the 100th day when you were in kindergarten and first grade?
I'm not sure if this is as big a deal once you become mature 2nd graders...
but it's definitely a big deal for the kinders and the first graders!
 100 pennies...
 100 crayons...
 100 marbles...
 100 box tops...
There are all kinds of items you can count to 100 with!

We could say 100 times, "WE LOVE OUR BUDDIES!"
