Positive/Negative Pumpkins

Ronnie
In A Block, we did a Halloween art project.
 Rhea
 We call them 'Positive/Negative Pumpkins.'
 Ella
In this case, the black is the negative space,
and the orange is the positive.
 Koa
 Jaden
I led them through the project step by step...
 Jaden and Evan
I love those projects where it's step by step and every single one looks totally different!
 Tyson and Jerica
Everything was done in a half.
They drew half a pumpkin,
half a nose,
half a mouth...
but only 1 whole eye!

 Tyler helping  Brooklyn
You can see here on Brooklyns how the black is negative space.
The orange part fit in that black area, but Brooklyn flipped the orange over to the other side,
leaving the black area to look like a pumpkin.
 Jaden
Unfortunately, I got into helping more after this step and
forgot to take photos of the finished projects!

 Elyse

 Kyle
Calvin and Jayden
Once they were all complete, I laminated them...
they make great placemats!

Happy Halloween from Room 17's A Block!
