Art

This is Arthur...but he told me he likes to be called, Art.

Art started with a game for his Game Boy. He said he likes to play it when he's not outside. This prompted a discussion of video games since Ariel had just talked about a DS. I asked Art how much video games cost...but he didn't really know. He said his dad ordered it online and it just showed up. Room 8 had varying opinions on how much the systems cost...Game Boys, DS, Nintendos, Wiis... as an older teacher, I was amazed at the prices of both the systems and the games!
Art brought the movie, King Kong. He said it was "really good". He started telling us someone got kidnapped ...and 4 guys found him in a jungle.... Art said it was his favorite movie.

The Wii was next. His dad bought it for him at the mall. Art said he had beat him before...I thought at first he meant he had beat his dad...but no, I think he meant he had beat the boy in the game. The game is called Ben 10...and Ben, the character, is 10 years old! He also brought a figure of Spiderman. Art told us he got it for a Christmas present when he was 7 years old. Now, that he's 9, he just thinks of it as a statue.
Art also brought a little stuffed animal of a dog. He said he brought it because it reminds him of his dog. He said he 'cut the tag off cause my dog doesn't have a tag!"
Room 8 got a kick out of that! We ended Art's bag sharing with a good laugh!
