Room 5 ventured into the computer lab today. We first went on to BBC Typing. We practiced our keyboarding skills, moving up a level at a time.
Once everyone had some practice keyboarding, I went around and got everyone on the blog...and bookmarking the blog on the computers. After showing them where and how to write a comment, I told them all to try and make at least one comment on someone's post.
After awhile, I heard Sawyer say, "Hey, I already have 6 comments!" Well, everyone started going back to their post to see if they also had comments. Some did and some didn't.
This led to a discussion about how good it makes you feel when someone comments and leaves a good word about you. They were all encouraged to get on the blog at home...and to be generous with their comments to the posts.
Tuesday afternoons is our regular computer lab time....hopefully it will stay in good working order and we can start going weekly!
