Just a note about an assignment coming home today.
We are studying fingerprinting in class, conducting it like we would a science fair project. Our purpose, asked as a question, is "Are fingerprints inherited?" Each student has taken a full set of their own fingerprints and we've looked at the 3 main categories of identification. (Whorls, Arches, Loops)
Today, each student is bringing home 2 sheets of paper, each with a hand printed on it. Their assignment is to take the prints of a relative...preferably mom and/or dad. This could be one hand of mom and one of dad...or both hands of one parent. However, if for ANY reason you, as a parent, don't want your fingerprint taken, hopefully it would be OK to take the prints of a grandparent or a sibling. If not, please let me know in writing.
Room 5 is very excited over this science experiment. I don't know the answer ... and I'm eager to find the answer right along with Room 5!
