Last Friday, the upper grade classes gathered in the gym to hear about the Innisbrook fund raiser. This is a fund raiser for our school...specifically for our library!
Rachel is Parent Club president...and she happens to be the mom of our very own Mikayla! She was telling us all about the fund raiser, and reminding us not to go door to door selling -- unless you have your parent with you. She said
Room 5 the room that sold the most would get a pizza party! That would certainly be fun...but the most important part would be raising money for our library!
Rachel had an adorable assistant...Kennedy! Kennedy just happens to be the sister of our very own Mikayla!
Kennedy was passing out bracelets to students who answered Rachel 's (aka..Mom) questions. I do believe we have THE best parent club! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Rachel!
After the assembly, the 5th graders (and our 4th graders) stayed in for the second session of MINUTE-TO-WIN-IT!
Room 5's first participant was Micah! His job was to shake the gum balls from one container to the other...and.
..Micah...WON! Yee-Haw!
Next up was our very own Ashlynn!
Her job was to stack the 5 die on the tongue depresser. Sound easy? It's not. You can't touch the tongue depresser with your hand...and you have to put the die on the very end. Did Ashlynn win that one?
Next up: Isabella...
Her task was to stack 5 Sprite cans...with a paper plate between each one...
She was actually doing GREAT...until the tower next to her came crashing down...knocking Isabella's pile down... RATS!
Sawyer was up next with the task of transferring tic-tacs from one plate to the next...using tweezers! This proved to be extremely tough...just about impossible...
Rian, from Mrs. C's class had a very difficult time too...
But this cutie from Mrs. T's class did great! She even broke the record from last week!

Caleb was our last contestant... he was cool and calm...
very methodical...transferring the cups from one stack to the next...with the goal of ending with the blue cup on top...
Yee-haw!!! He did it!
There were two other contestants from the other classes, but Caleb came out victorious!

To be eligible, you have to have all your work turned in ON TIME!

this was an awesome event. i was hoping i would be able to be in it but i guess i have to wait. i hope i get to do the part when you have to unstack the cups. i remember watching that. it was awesome. i hope i'll be in it soon!
