We had some extremely excited Room 8ers today!I got a phone call right before the morning recess saying Jaelin was coming to Room 8. She had originally been enrolled, but had moved to a different school right when school started. Fortunately for Room 8, it didn't work out and Jaelin moved back!
After recess, I told Room 8 I had a surprise for them. I told them we were getting a new student, and they were excited about that. Then I told them it was Jaelin...there was a pause as they started looking around at each other...probably trying to let what I had said sink in... and then they hooped and hollered... so very excited.
It wasn't until 10 minutes before lunch that she arrived. At that point, any work we were doing ceased, because Room 8 was delighted to welcome Jaelin into Room 8!
