Samantha

Samantha... I asked her at the beginning of the year if she went by Samantha or Sami. She said it didn't matter, that some people called her Sami. Now I notice, she writes her name as Sam. One of my nieces is Samantha, but we all call her Sami...which is what I tend to call our Sami!
Sami shared her bag today...and she started with The Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

She told us she likes to read. About this book, she said, "It's a good book."

She also brought some photos to share. Sami has two dogs, Bella and Eden. Bella is 2 months old and Eden is 3 years old. Sam told us she likes Bella and Eden because they're fun to play with. She also brought a photo of her family who she likes to spend time with.

This is a CD of Miley Cyrus. Sami told us she was going to her concert this weekend. After Sami had finished her presentation, I was asking room 8 what they had learned about Sam. Kaylin said, "She likes Hannah Montana like me."

"Oh, you mean Miley Cyrus?" I asked.

Well, here came another discussion, explaining to their un-in-the-know teacher that Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana were the same person! Apparently her real name was Destiny Hope, but she didn't like it so she changed it to Miley Cyrus. Her dad used to call her Smiley, so she dropped the 's' and that's how she got the name Miley. But then, she wanted to keep a private life, so she adopted the name Hannah Montana. Room 8 told me that when she's Hannah, she wears a blond wig. She also has 2 different wardrobes for the 2 different personalities! WOW!

Sami brought a medal to show us because she likes cheerleading...and this is a cheerleading medal!

Oh gee whiz! Here came another Littlest Pet Shop! Does everyone in Room 8 have these? They are sure cute! Joseph thought this one looked a little different since it was shiny!

This necklace is one Sami got for her birthday. It was made by a friend who is really close to her.

"Ummmm, what else do I have in my bag?"

Besides her DS video player that she likes to play and is "addicted to", her favorite game is Mario.

The last thing Sam shared with us was her tube of Chapstick. She had that in her bag because she 'likes to use it.'
