Kathryn

 

Meet Kathryn!

 Kathryn started by showing us this clay figurine.  It's made out of clay that's hardened and she has it in her bag because she likes to paint them.

 This is her dog's toy.  Stewie (is that spelled correctly?) is one of Kathryn's dogs.  She loves dogs and has 2 of them.  One of them is deaf.  Someone in Room 5 asked her how she called him if he couldn't hear.  Kathryn made some motions with her fingers/hand and said that meant 'come'...and he does!

She also had a pencil with the name of our local middle school written on it.  She included this because she likes to write and to draw.

 This is the same basketball that Aarin brought with her bag.  They were on the same team...and, of course, Kathryn likes basketball!

This is a magnetic dolphin!  Dolphins are Kathryn's favorite animal.  She likes to stick this one on the refrigerator.  She showed us by sticking it on our whiteboard.

She showed us a little bell...a little bell from the Santa Barbara mission.  Her older brother, Keith, did his mission report on Santa Barbara when he lived in Room 5 for his 4th grade year.  I wonder if that's the mission Kathryn will do?

She also shared a rhyming book.  She told us she likes to read. 

An agate was in her bag.  She told us they are clear and if you hold it up to the sun, you can see through it- sort of.  She and her mom like to go hunting for agates!

A small...very small...tape dispenser was in her bag.  She told us she loves to do crafts!

A 'little bunny on a string thingy' was a gift to her from her kindergarten teacher, Ms. C!  She (Ms. C) got it when she went to China.

The last thing in her bag was this 'Size 1 soccer ball'...the largest one she can palm!  Kathryn told us she really, really, really, really loves soccer!

Kathryn is named after two of her great grandmothers.  Kathryn is from her dad's grandma and Elizabeth, her middle name, is from her mom's grandma.  How sweet is that?
